Problems Downloading, Installing, Starting Ezvid? Problems with Directx?

Is Ezvid not working, not installing, not running on your computer?

Do you get a grey/back screen when you try to playback an Ezvid video, or a message like “problem detected with your Directx setup?”

Here is a step-by-step method for troubleshooting the installation of Ezvid.

  1. Ensure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of Ezvid directly from this page.
  2. Do not attempt to move the Ezvid application to another computer or USB drive. Ezvid is not portable.
  3. Are you having problems during the downloading stage of the installation? For example, and “error reading URL” or “The Operation Timed Out”? First, be sure that your internet speed is OK. Test your internet speed using a tool like this. Look carefully at your download speed. Usually the best solution if you can’t download it is to try again from a stronger internet connection, or wait 30 minutes and try again.
  4. Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements. If you are running Windows XP, are you sure that you have Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed? Please see here to learn how to find out.
  5. Run Windows Update and restart your computer
  6. Even if you were able to successfully download Ezvid, you might find that your problem is due to a corrupt installation. So reinstall ezvid again.
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Try running Ezvid again.
  9. If you get an error message about “Directx” or “WPFMediaKit” problems of any kind, try to set your hardware acceleration to FULL. Here are directions for Windows XP, and Windows 7, and Windows Vista.
  10. Run Microsoft’s Windows Media Player Fix Tool.
  11. Restart your computer
  12. Try running Ezvid again.
  13. Try to update your graphics card drivers. Directions here.
  14. Restart and try to run Ezvid again. If it doesn’t run, go to the next step.
  15. Go to the Windows Orb, click, and then right-click on ‘My Computer’ and then click ‘Properties’
  16. Go to the the ‘Device Manager’ tab.
  17. Under display adapters, do you see “Standard VGA Adapter”?
  18. If you DO see “Standard VGA Adapter”, then something is wrong with your graphics drivers! See this article to learn how to update your graphics drivers.
  19. If that doesn’t work, contact us here and be sure to include the ezvid error log and screenshot.
