I've downloaded and installed program. Everything appears to be working OK except the main viewing screen. My PC spec meets min requirements and I'm running XP (3). Any ideas?
Hi, I just installed the software and it looks ok, but when I upload my pictures or videos in does not show in the screen. the scree is black as if nothing was done, but in the timeline I can see my pictures. I will appreciate some help.
ezvid requires Direct X 9.0 compatible display adapters for playback. Many older Pentium 4 computers contain Intel 8xx series graphics chipsets which do not support DirectX 9 video playback.
If you want to know if your computer will support playback from ezvid, please follow the steps in this link and report back to us what display adapter your computer has:
If you have a compatible display adapter we can check and see if there is a problem with ezvid, but most likely if you see a blackscreen you will need to work on a newer computer or upgrade the display adapter (gpu) on your existing system.
Hi Dan, thanks so much for your response. I grab the following information from the display window after following steps in the link above: Name: RS880 Manuf: ATI Technologies, Inc Chip Type: ATI Display adapter (0x9710 DAC Type: Internal DAC (400 MHz) Approx Total Memmory: 3064 MB Current Display Mode: 19x20x1080 (32bit) (60Hz) Monitor: HP2310 Series Wide LCD Monitor
Notes: *no problems found
I got confused with the name of the adapter and decide to copy the part that should contain it.
Thank you!, I will be looking forward to your response.
I'll try to help you out further, while Dan is on vacation. In addition to your display adapter spec, knowing details of DirectX setup would be a great help to me.
To collect information about DirectX configuration on your computer please do the following: 1. Open a command line window (Click Start and type cmd in the search textbox) 2. Type dxdiag at the command prompt 3. In the DirectX diagnostic Tool window, press the Save All Information button 4. Save the info into a file of your choice, then open the file and paste all the text from the file into one of the fields in the bug form here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?hl=en_US&formkey=dFI3b2ZHNmpNR3B0c2o3NE1raTVLRWc6MQ#gid=0
Hi Mikhail Finally I got the cdm I tried and tried and could not see the thing, but I just posted the saved information in the form as per your instructions. Hope it helps. I am dying for use your ezvid!
Thank you for finding and posting the DirectX info for me. It looks like the graphics driver on your system may not be set properly. You could either reinstall the driver from the disk that may have come with your computer or download the latest driver from the HP support site.
To download the driver, visit http://www.hp.com and choose Support & Drivers from the top menu. Then choose Drivers&Software, type p6540 in the Search box (this is the system model of your PC). Click Search, and choose the first item on the list of found matches - HP Pavilion p6540f Desktop PC. Select Microsoft Windows 7 (64 bit). Expand the Driver-Original section and choose Original ATI Graphics Driver, download and install the driver. Please let me know if it fixes the blank screen problem and you can use ezvid and other DirectX apps.
Firstly, thanks so much for your clear instructions. I am not an expert in computers, but it was very easy to download and install the software with your indications. Now, unfortunately it did not work, I am still having the same issue. Just in case, I went to my c panel and uninstalled the software and download it again, but I still having the problem and also notice that even though I installed the program, the information I entered since my first try is still in there. Is that normal? a new installation and still have my data on it (keyword-description and the pictures). I hope you can come up with something to fix this.
Your first project that you created initially was saved to disk, so your work on putting together a video, entering keywords, etc. was not lost after you uninstalled an earlier version of ezvid and installed a new one. This is how ezvid is designed to work. Now back to the blank preview problem. Please run the dxdiag test for me again (just like I described earlier) and post the results to the same link. We will see what has changed in DirectX setup after you downloaded and installed the driver for your graphics adapter from the HP website. Thank you so much for being patient and providing valuable feedback to us. Mikhail
Ruth, thank you for bearing with me. Apparently installing the HP driver did not change anything. Let us give a try to AMD drivers. Please use this utility http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx to detect your grahics card and to install an updated driver. Please let me know how it goes. Mikhail
Hi Mikhail. thanks so much for your support, I am so excited about being able to use this program.
I donwnload and isntalled the updated draver as per instructions, but it did not work. I reboot my computer and tried the program again after installing, but it still the same, here is a screenshoot of the program running http://screencast.com/t/P0L54GTi
From all users, is this only happening to my computer? I am curios
Hello Ruth, I looked over your dxdiag output, and d3d9 overlays and dxva are disabled on your system. This is why you can't see video. Tthe hardware you have likely supports hardware accelerated video playback, so it would seem that at some point on your computers past these advanced features were disabled.
Please try the steps below to re-enable hardware acceleration of video playback: 1. Right Click your desktop -> Select Screen Resolution 3. Click Advanced Settings 4. Click the Troubleshoot tab and click Change Settings 5. Enabled hardware acceleration 6. Click Apply and then click OK to accept the new setting and close the dialog box 7. Click OK to close the Display Properties dialog box 8. Restart Windows.
Hi Dan. I tried, but when in troubleshooting my "change settings" option is disable, I could not open it. I tried to search for any video on youtube and see id I can enable it, but I did not find any clue. Hope you can continue helping me. thank you. Ruth
Hi, I finally got someone from HP who told me that my video card does not support changes. I would have to buy a dedicated video card. They said there is a technical way to get around it and make a one time change for me, for they were charging me $59.99 for that, but right now I can not make that investment. Please let me know if you guys have an idea of another way around this. Thanks so much! Ruth
I’m experience the same problem as ruthlee1 did concerning the missing pictures at the main viewing screen.
The thing is I’ve read all the suggestions in the bug report and really gone through all the adjustments, and I still have the same black screen!
I’m using XP with all updates, and my tool is a laptop from Dell. Let me just say that I have no problems whatever with other graphic programs, including Camtasia. I could, of course use Camtasia, but I really believe that ezvid.com would be a very good alternative and probably much simpler to manage!
Hi, I would like to know if you still looking into a solution for potential users with issues like mine. I want to know if I should just discart the idea of using your software.
Ruth, my apologies for a not getting back to you for a long time. I did come across another potential solution that may be helpful. Please take a look if Catalyst Control Center is installed on your computer. If it is, please tweak its settings to see if it helps to show ezvid video playback. If not please install the new set of AMD drivers here http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx Mikhail
Hello Rebus, thanks for letting us know about your videos not playing in the main preview area. Reports like yours from various Windows and hardware platforms help us a lot to diagnose and fix problems that do not show up during our regular testing. If you got a minute please run a simple test described in my Feb.27 post and send the results back to us. Thank you. Mikhail
Sorry, it did not work. I searched for the software and did not see it so I download from the link provided. It did not work. How can I do the tweak in settings? to see if it wok.
Hi Ruth, please bear with me, I am trying to get hold of a computer with an AMD chipset similar to yours, so that I can install the newest version of AMD Catalyst Software Suite and see what settings are available that can potentially help to resolve the no eidt screen issue.
Is there a TIMELINE to edit on? I would like to cut the length of the video I am working on. Please advise if this is possible and how to do so??? thank you
