Why can't I use MP3s I download from the internet in Ezvid?
  • Please find a way to get music imported!!!!
  • I am starting making videos for youtube but there needs to be a way to choose popular music and stuff, right?
  • It's something we're thinking about. The primary issue is something called "Copyright" -- for some background take a look at youtube's FAQ page: http://www.youtube.com/t/copyright_what_is

Since ezvid is designed to work with YouTube, it's necessary that we guide our users to comply with YouTube rules -- and the most import and obvious rule on YouTube is "don't upload a video unless you really actually own all the copyright to what you are uploading."

If the music that you want to use with your YouTube video is actually music that you recorded yourself, with your own instruments and recording equipment, and is a song that you actually wrote (i.e. not a "cover" of a song by another artist).. i.e. is a totally original, then I think that possibly you should be looking for a more advanced, professional grade video editor -- like this http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere.html .

Ezvid isn't really designed for media professionals, it's more for people who want to make fun videos, and videos that will definitely be allowed on youtube and won't get your youtube account suspended ;)

    greets
  • ok thanks ;)
  • well, i am attempting to create a video using original content completely owned by myself. the picture is group share photo originally from facebook. if you could help me convert my personal music file from windows media player, i would be thankful. my email is jeremyleaves@gmail.com . thank you.
  • p.s. I have the music file on disc (original recording), and it is ripped to my hard-drive.
  • i have no intention of violating any of youtube's policies. I just want a place where people can listen to my songs for free and enjoy the tracks. if you have any further information, i would like it if and when it becomes available.
  • Hi Jeremy,

I just thought I would direct you to what the admin wrote above. Ezvid simply isn't designed to handle music imports at it's current stage, so it isn't possible:

"If the music that you want to use with your YouTube video is actually music that you recorded yourself, with your own instruments and recording equipment, and is a song that you actually wrote (i.e. not a "cover" of a song by another artist).. i.e. is a totally original, then I think that possibly you should be looking for a more advanced, professional grade video editor -- like this http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere.html .
